Product labelling
We cannot cut our emissions without systemic change. This project helped us gain a better overview of how we can measure, monitor and drive progress when it comes to reducing emissions across our value chain. The Carbon Trust team showed us that by holding our own footprint to account, we can set an example to the wider industry.
The Carbon Trust were a trusted partner to understand the latest international taxonomy trends and design a solution for the South African market. They provided valuable guidance and a high standard of technical work that responded to the South African policy, regulatory, and private sector contexts with a view to attracting international investors. Working seamlessly with the National Business Initiative, the Carbon Trust engaged key stakeholders and developed practical tools to help the ultimate users of the taxonomy support a sustainable, inclusive, and low carbon economy.
You cannot get to Net Zero with zero financing, zero process and zero training. With support and tools from the Carbon Trust, we were able to quantify our financed emissions and assess the impact of our portfolios, as well as potential investments. The Carbon Trust’s collaborative approach was much appreciated as they tried to immerse themselves in the project to better understand what we do, what we need, and where we want to go.
