Rudolf has over 8 years' experience in supporting decarbonization, Green Finance and energy sector
reform in Africa. He has a breadth of experience in the field of decarbonization, specifically in
the fields of sustainable finance, energy sector reform in support of just transitions, urban development,
infrastructure finance, project preparation, environmental and social management frameworks. Prior to
joining The Carbon Trust, Rudolf worked as Portfolio Manager at KfW Development Bank in the energy
space under the Green Economy focal area. He has in-depth knowledge of the economic and social
dynamics underpinning South Africa’s sustainable development landscape (at the local government,
ministry, and national levels). He is actively involved in discussions with Financial Institutions on
decarbonisation pathways and the financial instruments required to drive sustainability transitions in Africa and beyond.
