Robert leads the set-up of our large scale joint industry projects in offshore wind.  He works across all technical areas of offshore wind, but with particular focus on the challenge of integrating large offshore wind capacities onto the onshore energy networks.  As examples of this work, he has led the set-up and ongoing management of the High Voltage Array Systems project, which is leading the offshore wind industry to use higher voltages offshore, and the INCENTIVE project, which is demonstrating how offshore wind farms can provide vital electrical stability to the onshore networks.  

Robert’s broad technical understanding of offshore wind and energy systems stems from his scientific background, where he holds a Master’s degree in physics from the University of Cambridge.  His understanding of commercial and legal aspects of large scale joint industry projects stems from his qualification as a Chartered UK and European Patent Attorney.
