Nils Lehmann
New Ventures Manager
Nils supports clients in realising value from technology innovation strategies and venturing activities. He works with start-ups, large corporates, investors and governments to successfully commercialise low carbon technologies through novel business models. He leads the Carbon Trust’s Energy Systems Innovation Platform (ESIP), which helps organisations with a strategic interest in the energy system develop long-term viable business models for energy storage services, reducing the overall cost of the UK’s electricity system. Nils has previously led a multi-stakeholder project to assess the value for the UK from the deployment of energy storage solutions, the results of which are credited for catalysing market development efforts.
Nils holds an MSc in Mathematics from McGill University and was previously a senior consultant at McKinsey & Company, supporting energy companies in the development of low carbon strategies. Nils regularly talks at international conferences and judges at clean-tech start-up competitions.
