Brian is a Senior Manager within the Cities and Regions team and has extensive experience in developing renewable energy opportunities for public sector organisations. He has also developed regional energy strategies and delivery plans and established effective governance structures to take regional ownership. Brian has also supported the production of renewable and low carbon energy assessments to provide an evidence base for local planning authorities in the production of replacement local development plans.

Brian previously worked in the construction industry and has extensive commercial and management experience having led the Wales and South West region of a national construction company. He was also chair of the company’s in-house sustainability consultancy and guided it through a process of commercialisation to enable it to operate in a financially sustainable manner.

Brian has a PhD in Demand Side Management, a MSc (with Distinction) in Sustainable Energy and Environment, an MBA and a BSc in Quantity Surveyor. He is also a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) and an associate member of the Energy Institute (AMEI).
