Pietro joined the Carbon Trust in 2021 and heads up our sustainable finance practice. He leads on relationships and engagements with the financial sector focussing on how financial institutions respond organisationally to climate change and can act as a catalyst through the extension of finance to fuel the acceleration towards Net Zero.

Pietro is a development economist with almost a decade of experience across the front lines of financial services and consulting. Previously with Standard Chartered PLC, Pietro was in the bank’s financial institutions group, working across the corporate finance, financial markets and transaction banking product portfolio and managing global client relationships. More recently, Pietro was a consultant for EA Consultants, a boutique development and strategy consultancy specialising on ESG in financial services. He has expertise in developing innovative green and sustainable financial product offerings, as well as impact assessment methodologies.

Pietro is based in London and holds a bachelors degree from the University of Oxford and a masters degree from Columbia University. He is a native French and Italian speaker.
