Juan has over 11 years of experience in supporting the decarbonisation of the energy sector in the global south, combining expertise in energy access, energy efficiency, policy and innovation.

Based in the London office, Juan is currently focused on helping to accelerate the move to a decarbonised future in Latin America.

Prior to joining the Carbon Trust in 2020, Juan worked on enabling access to clean energy in Latin America, with a strong sector knowledge in Colombia, where he has worked with public and private institutions and international cooperation donors on policy design, decarbonisation strategies, energy access and business development. He has also carried out projects in the UK and sub-Saharan Africa.

Juan holds a Master's degree in Environment and Renewable Energy from the University of Barcelona and graduated with honours in Mechanical Engineering from Santo Tomas University.
