As part of Phase III of the Integrator programme, the Carbon Trust is soliciting entries from qualified companies and consortia interested in undertaking a comprehensive study to investigate the design and operational strategy of a centralised offshore hydrogen production platform. The goal of this project will be to produce a concept design that is scalable, market-tailored, and aligns with the consenting processes in the UK and Germany.
Project objectives:
- Conduct a comprehensive regulatory analysis and market comparison for offshore hydrogen production identifying critical regulations, guidelines, and market-specific design decisions, equipment selection and overall project execution.
- Provide a concept design for a 500 MW or more scale centralised offshore hydrogen production facility as a basis on which to establish concept feasibility and relevant consenting parameters.
- Identify design uncertainties, assess their impact on project success, and propose mitigation strategies.
Preferred experience:
The ideal applicant should possess:
- Proven track record in concept and FEED stage design of large scale (>500MW) hydrogen production plants including electrolysis, purification, compression, and utilities.
- Proven track record in concept and FEED stage design of offshore platform topsides which include large scale process engineering packages.
Timeline:
- Applications open: 15 December 2023
- Deadline for clarification questions: 12 January 2024
- Clarification document published: 19 January 2024
- Submission of full tender - deadline extended: 9 February 2024 (17:00 GMT)
