Invest in building fabric to save up to 15% on total energy bills

The Carbon Trust has today launched an updated series of energy guides, designed to help businesses and the public sector to take control of their energy spend and carbon emissions. The regular release of new guides will be taking place over the next few months, and will provide overviews of key technologies and best practice within different sectors.

Investing in improving building fabric - which refers to floors, ceilings, windows, doors and walls - can be one of the most effective ways to save money on bills. Industrial buildings could be losing a staggering 75% of its heat through the building fabric.

The technology overview provides an in-depth look at opportunities at opportunities for energy saving, with a particular focus on options for insulation and the importance of maintenance.
