With a wealth of experience spanning the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, Gbolahan has been instrumental in mobilizing resources for critical initiatives, including programmes to support African governments and multi-lateral agencies in their COVID-19 response and vaccine rollout, as well as building strategic partnerships to deliver impact.
Through his leadership at the Tony Blair Institute, Gbolahan has positioned them as a partner of choice for major global donors and the world of business, including foundations and governmental agencies seeking bold, high-impact solutions to pressing global challenges.
This expertise in philanthropic fundraising, alongside a passion for sustainability and our mission were among the core areas we were looking for when we started our search for a new Non-Executive Director.

- Employee Directors — Renata Lawton-Misra and Tom Richardson;
- Executive Director — CEO, Michael Rea;
- Chair — Julia King, Baroness Brown of Cambridge.
“The choice is clear for governments, businesses and financial institutions to seize the opportunity to build prosperous, resilient economies for future generations through a just transition.
“The Carbon Trust’s mission is crucial to that, especially in the need to balance growth with social and environmental impact.
“I can’t wait to get started with the rest of the Carbon Trust board to enable this pioneering organisation to drive transformative climate action through inclusive, transparent, and effective decision making.
