Research has shown that fully decarbonising global industry is essential to achieving climate stabilisation, to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050-2070 and to limit global warming to 2C. It also confirms that heavy industry produces roughly 22% of global carbon emissions.

The discussion, featuring industry leaders and regional government representatives, will highlight their leadership roles in driving forward the implementation of decarbonisation strategies and shaping the transition of the industry sector.

Fully decarbonising global industry is essential to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Germany, a global hub for manufacturing sites and biggest steel producer in the EU, will be a key player in this transition. During our panel discussion, experts and corporate representatives from Germany and the UK will discuss the latest industry trends, how they're overcoming current challenges and how industry businesses in Germany and globally can turn ambition into action to achieve net zero.
